The Best Kid's Furniture Idea for Managing Anxiety and ADHD

While I was designing a second grade classroom at a Title One school in Salt Lake City, I was looking for a chair I could use in a refuge corner for any children who are feeling a little out of control or having anxiety or difficulty focusing on the task at hand. The intent of this is to give a child a space to relax and feel protected and to focus their attention on something else, for example if there is an herb garden, they could be distracted by the beautiful smells of the herbs, perhaps they would pick one of the leaves and rub it between their fingers engaging both their tactile and olfactory senses. Both of which would aid in refocusing their attention, all the while feeling comforted and held in this cocoon like chair. So, hopefully, you are getting the picture of what I was searching for or as we call it, sourcing. During this research, I came across the coolest designed furniture that would be so great in a classroom or child’s bedroom. While I do not believe these are the market (I could be wrong and please let me know if I am because I need to incorporate these into my future designs), I just had to share them there as inspiration and whimsy.
